We have been learning about the Great Depression in preparation for our novel study
Bud, Not Buddy. What lessons do you think we learned as a country as a result of these hard times? Do you think our country will ever face anything like this again? Why or why not?

ReplyDeletemy name is gage i think that the great depression was obout the stock market droped and everyone was in debt. i think we leared a lesson because in the roaring 20's credit was introduced and everyone bought things like cars clothes drinks. now we learned to use our money wisely
ReplyDeleteSOME people use there money wisely. Some people may not though. And some people just might have not a lot of money and therefore debt. What I think was the main problem in the Great Depression was that the few people who had money didn't put it in banks and therefore they couldn't reopen them.

I'm glad we went through The Great Depression because if the Great Depression hadn't happened there would be a chance of it happening again.

ReplyDeleteThe great depression had a huge impact on the country. People were living in shanties almost nobody had a job. All the banks fell and went out of buisness. Buy now we have improved and know to use money properly. We also learned as a country that having credit does not mean your rich.

I think it could defintly happen again because it had all started with the gas prices going up and the gas prices have oviously gone up.
ReplyDeleteIt IS possible that it could happen again. Are economy right now isn't that great. It may either get better or lead to something like the Great Depression. But even if it WERE to lead to something like that, it would probably take a long time, and probably won't be as serious as the Great Depression.

ReplyDeleteGood evening, This comment is from Mr. Sacho. I definitely believe that this tragedy could happen again. People do NOT learn from past mistakes, in my opinion. Our country is in a bad situation currently, and it is not the result of just one event, man, woman or political party. We are in this situation together, and hopefully, if CONGRESS, and the rest of the government, can get together, we may pull ourselves out of this. I have recently read, "A walk in the Woods", "The Last Child in the Woods", and "A short History of Almost Everything". I would recommend these to all of you once you are in Middle or High School. So if the presidents whould look back at hoovers bad mistakes and see what happen they should not make us go through that again.
